Customer has a TL820 robot and has created new tape pools.
Now, when loading a tape he gets
error allocating scratch volumes of media type tz87
not enough volumes for request
,but there are enough free tapes available,
any pointer welcome

This may not apply, but it's worth a look: when we were seeing a
similar message (under similar circumstances) it turned out to be a
discrepancy in the "location" value for the free tapes. Make sure the
LOCATION field matches the value of logical "LOCATION" in logical name
table LNM$SLS$VALUES (on both client and tapeserver nodes, just to play
safe).

The problem was related to smfs and device and file setup!
