A customer has an Alphaserver 8400 with KFTIA-AA (3 SCSI FWD, 1 SCSI SE) running V6.2 He wants to use the Robot (named TimberWolf 9714 LIbrary) with SLS. This library may have up to 6 DLT4000 units, and the interface robot is compliant SCSI-2. questions? ---------- 1 Does DCSC always necessary to support this type of Robot, or does MDMS sufficient because the interface robot, in this case, is SCSI-2 FW compliant. 2 what is the SLS version to use V2.8 /V2.8-2-1 /2.8A ? thank You, Henri.

MDMS supports the Storagetek family of silos only through the DCSC software interface. The 4400 is the only silo that has been thoroughly tested with SLS/MDMS. Other silos (e.g. Wolfcreek, Timberwolf) should work assuming they emulate the 4400 exactly. > 2 what is the SLS version to use V2.8 /V2.8-2-1 /2.8A ? Few changes have been made to MDMS in recent releases that would effect these silos; check Release Notes. V2.8A is the current release. Hope this helps, Marty -Marty. |
