2162.6 | %SLS-E-SLOTCONTVOL, proposed solutions do not work | ULYSSE::TRESCH | Franoise | Tue Feb 18 1997 09:08 | 24 |
| I have the same problem as described in note .0. When I try to import
a new magazine, after having exported another one, I get the same
message:
%SLS-E-SLOTCONTVOL, one or more slots to be covered by this magazine
contain volumes.
All volumes in the new magazine are free and located outside a slot.
(Volume Location is blank).
The problem seems to be with the previous magazine, all volumes have
been exported except one which still appears "In slot" when doing a
"show mag".
I have tried all workarounds proposed in the replies but none of them
worked.
Does anybody have another idea? What should I do?
Thanks for your help,
Franoise

Guesses are being made here based on insufficient information.
To anyone having this problem, please provide the following:
- the complete and exact output of $STORAGE SHOW MAGA of each magazine
involved (preferably before and after the export).
- the complete output of $STORAGE SHOW VOLUME of the volume involved.
The SLOTCONTVOL error should never occur unless the previous $STORAGE EXPORT
command failed to complete successfully. If anyone can reproduce this,
please gather pertinent data and submit an ipmt case.
Regarding repair of the database, please describe how the VOL$VOLUME
utility fails. Provide output of $STORAGE SHOW VOLUME before and after
using the utility.
Thanks,
Marty
