Does anyone have access to a system with AutoCAD release 13 or 14?
I need to convert an AutoCAD .DWG file to the ASCII-based .DXF format
that my AutoSketch program can read in.
I've tried reading the .DWG file on a release 12 system but get an
incompatible version error. Thus I infer that the file was produced on
a release 13 or 14 system and that such a system would be needed for
the conversion. I don't believe conversion programs such as HiJaak Pro
will handle the newer AutoCAD file formats.

Thanks to some off line contacts I was able to get the R13 .DWG file
converted to an ASCII R13 .DXF file. Unfortunately, my AutoSketch
program couldn't handle this .DXF version.
Poking around the Autodesk WWW pages I found a utility called DXFIX
which converts an R13 DXF to R12. After this conversion I was able to
import the file with only a few minor problems.
