3016.0. "Invalid VxD dynamic link??" by CHOWDA::GLICKMAN (writing from Newport,RI) Sat May 24 1997 23:01

    Help:

    	Got this on a PC after running Scandisk, on the re-boot with
    Windows95:

    	Invalid VxD dynamic link call from 0000003C to device "0070"
    Service 465.

    	Your Windows configuration is invalid. Run the Windows Setup
    program again to correct this problem.

    	Does this mean a whole new installation? Or only the components
    that have the problem? If its the latter case how do I know what
    components. Although in safe mode, My Computer did not reflect
    the Zip drive or the CD. Is that a clue to the problem?

    	And finally what exactly does the message mean?

    	Thanks.

3016.1hopefully you'll be able to "repair" vs install againSUBSYS::MSOUCYMentalmETALMikeTue May 27 1997 08:2913

    re: -1

    I don't know what the error means other than it looks like a file got
    trashed on a repair/fix from scandisk. Safe mode loads a minimum driver
    set (from what I gather) and default settings for some stuff, video for
    example. A installation disc I have here in the lab didn't give me an
    option to "repair" missing or damaged files but on my home disc I have
    had that option come up on a re-installation and it took about as long
    as a full installation did. Someone else might come up with what the
    codes mean, I'm not sure if the W95 resource book has this info.

3016.2It was Virus Checker softwareCHOWDA::GLICKMANwriting from Newport,RIWed May 28 1997 22:084
    Turns out it was the Parsons Virucide Plus 4.0 software I had also
    installed that evening. Once I uninstalled that software I was able to
    boot the computer again. I am checking with Parsons on this!!
