These are single purpose SCSI cards. They are not meant
to be used for general purpose.
Also, the S6E comes with two drivers; one specific for
their controller, and one spec'd out for adaptec.
I suspect the Iomega and UMAX cards have similar
properties, but they are not the same. I suspect
they handle very different transfer rates, which
is likely just one of the problems you are experiencing.
I just hope there is no conflict between the
Iomega card and the UMAX card.
or ...
Go out and by a general purpose SCSI card and
hook up both the Iomega and UMAX peripherals.

| I have my scanner off an SC810 and it works without failure. I am sure
it would also workoff of my 2940w, but have not tried it yet.
I would suggest that you will have to dedicate the 'UMAX' scsi card to
just the scanner...

2986.3 | It works, after updating sparrow.mpd | TUXEDO::FRIDAY | DCE: The real world is distributed too. | Sun May 04 1997 18:13 | 12 |
| Thought I'd post the latest info regarding this topic.
I now have my S6E working successfully off of the SCSI card
that iomega sells as the Zip Zoom card. This SCSI card is
actually an Adaptec 1505 card, but it supports only external
connections.
If you want to do this you need to download the most
recent sparrow.mpd from the Adaptec web site. And yes,
you can include the Zip drive in the SCSI chain too.
