I have a Venturis GL 6200 PC that needs an ethernet card installed into one of the PCI slots, however, the PCI slots are not enabled/recognized by the systyem. When I go into F2 for the BIOS setup, it does not show up, nor do I know how to make the system recognize it. Has anyone seen this or know how to have the PC acknowledge it? mc

There's no bells or whistles that go off when a PCI card is inserted. If it's supported by Windows95, it should see it on the bext boot. WindowsNT may need to be told about it (i.e. drivers installed manually). If it still doesn't work, there's various possibilities (riser card not seated well or bad, slot bad or garbage in slot, card not seated well or bad,...) K |
