2928.0. "Info. and queries about LPv cache upgrade" by PGREEN::HAYESI (Is that a warp nacelle in your pocket...?) Mon Feb 24 1997 04:25
I am looking to upgrade my some years old LPv system by adding in a L2
cache. It currently doesn't have any.
I have researched this and discovered that to upgrade it I need DEC
part numbers:
PC75M-BA (0 - 128K)
PC74M-BA (128 - 256K)
More specifically, the chips I need are dual in line SRAMs in the
following quantities:
3 off 16K x 4 15ns
8 off 32K x 8 20ns
My queries are:
1) Can I simply buy these chips from a supplier or do I need to have
specific chip part numbers?
2) Living around the Reading area in UK, where could I buy them from?
3) Are these parts still available from Digital and if so where could I
order them from?
4) Are there any undocumented restrictions vis-a-vis putting this
upgrade into my system?
Thanks in advance,
Ian.
