Note 162.0 P5/133 WNT 4.0 - DECwriter 500i problem No replies

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a configuration of a Celebris 133 with WNT4.0 and trying to
setup a DECwriter 500i without success. The DECwriter 500i driver
comes from the WNT 4.0 CD. I have set the port to LPT1.

When I print, I get a printer busy message and the Color LED blinks.
    I've tried the following:
    	- in setup, have tried all possible protocols:
    		- bi directional
    		- compatible
    		- EPP 1.9
    		- EPP 1.7
    		- ECP-DMA1
    		- ECP-DMA3

    	- powering off and on to reset printer
    	- cables are securely attached
    	- verified printing works with self-test (holding printer
buttns down) and do receive a print test page.

    	- after each reboot, printer cycles through some sequences
and then kicks out a page, loads up another page. When the
system comes to full boot, at the logon prompt, the 'color' led
goes back to blinking. The blink is a single sequence.

Is there known problems with WNT 4.0 DECwriter 500i drivers?
    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks
    Wayne
