We've got a DECstation 325c that we upgraded with the Cyrix 486 upgrade chip. The system also has 16mb of RAM and a 340mb hard disk. Not great but ok. I've tried to install Windows '95 on it and am at the point where the install is looking for an OEM setup disk. I don't know what to do at this point. Has anyone tried this before? How did you get around this problem? Where did you get the setup disk? Should I see if Cyrix has one? Thanks! David

I was able to get the name of the file that the procedure was looking for. It was on the setup disk from another Digital PC that we have. I pointed the installation procedure there and Windows '95 proceeded on. I'm not sure if we'll have trouble in the future with this but the system at least is running WIndows '95 now. David
2896.2 | DEC333c with Cyrix to Windows 95 was no prob! | SNOFS1::RASMUSSEN | Tue Jan 28 1997 19:57 | 9
RE: .0 I upgraded a DEC333c with a Cyrix chip and upgraded it from Windows for Work Groups 3.11 to Windows 95. I do not recall being asked for any OEM disk. Are you doing an upgrade or a clean install? Perhaps the OEM disk required is for a video or other card it has no drivers for? Wayne |
