| Keep in mind that fake parity memory needs a chip to generate the fake
parity. Also, DIMMs (maybe some SIMMs too?) have a buffer IC for some of
the control lines.
So you should check the numbers on the chips too, not just their quantity.

| Hopefully this information might help someone else.
I ended up buying the 16MB/60/true parity simm. After installing
it the system should have seen 24MB but only saw 16MB.
I experimented with various combinations but could never
get my original (2)2X16 to work with the (1)4X16. Each would work
ok by themselves .. in other words the system would come
up on 16MB or 8MB.
I spoke with the company I bought from who had assured me
that it work. To make a long story short I did not
like any of the options they gave me to resolve the problem.
Last nite after more frustration of getting this to work
I found the problem. My system is a GW with a PHOENIX BIOS.
I had to set BIOS/VIDEO SHADOW = DISABLED for the system
to recognize above 16MB memory. How do you spell relief!!
