    From a guy who supports disks....
    
    You have never heard anything like the HP drive we sold as the RZ26P
    (If memory serves me), that drive if powered on while sitting on the
    middle of your desk would "walk" off in about 30 seconds if left
    unattended. The RZ26L revision A01, was affectionatly known as the "rock
    crusher"
    
    Disk drives are/were spec'd as to the amount of vibration they can
    withstand not by the amount they put out. They are spec'd on acoustics
    and recently vibration is something that has had more and more focus as
    systems get smaller.
