I've just recently started to piece together how much influence the raven has had on the mythology of the Native American in the Pacific Northwest. They call it Raven the Trickster. This came to light while reading about totem poles. I remember the eskimoos also consider the raven a god (or the god?) that looks down on man and laughs. If you know any mythology related stories about the raven, whould you please share them here or give pointers?

Wasn't it a raven who let Bilbo Baggins into Smaug's lair in "The Hobbit"? JP |
