| I have been putting out a feeder for hummingbirds for several years now
but never managed to keep any hummers hanging around, this year I have
a resident and he defends that feeder from everything that comes near,
be it an Oriole or a bumblebee, size does not mean a thing to him.
I read an article that said, if you can get them to spend one summer
in your garden they will come looking for your feeder year after year.
Along with the feeder I have several flowering plants that I know they
are fond of but as we are having a late sping the only thing in bloom I
have seen it at is a Rhododendron so I will have to make sure the
feeder is kept full of nice sweet water intil the other plants start to
bloom.
