5884.0. "Ethernet configurator module info?" by BRADEC::lucia.mil.brc.dec.com::Molnar (SI Bratislava) Fri May 16 1997 09:37

Hi folks,

Is there anyone out there, who knows precisely the meaning of time
values in the output from the Ethernet Configurator? I could not find
any document, which is describing the relevant info.

What is Elapsed time & Time of last report? Can I consider evaluating
these times the exact time when a notebook running DECnet was started
up on the monitored network? Seems to me the Elapsed time value has
the limit of 23:00:00 hours - am I correct? What if I disconnect the
notebook, will the Time of last report show the time of
disconnection?

I was not able to experiment with my notebook, cos I don't have
DECnet on it.

Also, I'm not able to go onto FILES::net$archive:[registry] and pick
the Device type list. Anyone has a recent one, please?

Thank you,

Miro.

Thank you,

I have seen a similar list (but an older one). This looks also
somehow outdated (1989?). What if I get a device number, like #224,
or #180? Also, can anyone help me with the time values?

Miro.

Come on folks,

someone has to understand this! I need it for one security
related investigation for which the timings are important.

Thank you,

Miro.
