Hi, I am using an application (TeMIP) which has the functionality to invoke the audible warning bell at variable volumes. This works okay on UNIX/VMS work stations but the variable component is lost using Excursion (ie gives a constant volume). Is this an Excursion 'feature' or can it be enabled? Thanks Colin Eglin

That's to be expected. I don't think there's any way to vary the volume on the PC speaker. On workstations you often have keyboard "bells" and the speakers on those keyboards are designed to vary the volume. Now 3.0 of eXcursion of does support sound cards. I'm sure it would be possible for the server to honor the Bell request if the PC is equipped with a sound card. You might file a suggestion QAR. #Gary | |||||
