Hi, I have a problem for install Excursion on Windows NT 4.0 workstation that the detail as below: Configuration: - Pathworks 32 v7.0 - Excursion v3.0 - Windows NT 4.0 with services pack 2 - DECNET and NETBEUI protocol installed Problem detail: - I can run XAppls on 'SERVER1 - OpenVMS' via DECNET is successful. - I can't run XAppls on 'SERVER2 - OpenVMS, SERVER3 - Digital Unix' via DECNET with the eXursion message on LOG screen is: 'X Application Startup Error Could not connect to SERVER2. Check to make sure your login information is correct'. I am make sure the username and password is correct and I can apply this username via Windows NFT to transfer files. - But I can apply TCP/IP with same configuration on Excursion Control Panel to run XAppls on ALL of server. Due to I can't compare the pathworks on OpenVMS setting on two of Server. Any suggestion for check the pathworks setting on the server or other setting. Thank you very much !! Pan HKMCS

Make sure that you have copied the pcx_serv.exe file from the CD to your Digital Unix system. If you have not done so, see page 2-22 in the eXcursion User's Guide. (In Post-installation Tasks. "Installing on Alpha Hosts Running DECnet on Digital Unix.) The file must be transfered (as a binary) over to the Dux system and a DECnet object must be created. #Gary | |||||

Also, make sure the decnet hosts are known in both directions between your nt and your unix. Test with ncp show node x.y Do this on both unix and nt to make sure they both know about each other. I had a problem recently where the unix didn't completely know about the nt. /Eric |
