3226.0. "? on DXMCP login, v2.1.309 and keyboard mapping" by RULLE::BRINGH () Mon Jan 27 1997 11:19

    Hi

Is there a solution/patch to the problem described in note 2712.4
    or can someone explain why?

A customer here in Sweden is complaining about not getting a proper
keyboard when logging in using DXMCP and EXCURSION v2.1.309. But,
as in 2712.4, if they switch to secondary keyboard and back then it
works. I am not able to quite reproduce the problem here but if I set
a different keyboard than system default in the session manager
(DU v3.2C, Motif) or define my keyboard with xmodmap (V4.0B and CDE),
then nothing works. But a CTRL/Shift twice fixes the keyboard.
The cusomer then tried to remove any keyboard settings but it doesn't
help. If I remove my xmodmap definition, then I have most of my keys,
except I cannot erase typing misstakes when giving username and password
    in the login window.

I have given WX21309Q.EXE to the customer but he has not yet tested
it. But it does not work at all on my system. The application starts
but I don't seem to have a window manager.

And for my self, how do I change the pointer. I get a hardly visible _
    as pointer?

As 309 is quite old now, I would suggest that if possible you try field
test EFT2B, or the ssb canditate on JAMIN::PW32:. Please see if the problems
seem alleviated.

Thanks.
