| This sounds good - where can a copy of the Multia MWM.EXE be found ?

Don't we include mwm.exe on the excursion kit somewhere already ?

| The one in the kit is a console-based application, so there's a console
window opened when it starts. What I think .7 is looking for is one
that's built as a Win application so that no console window appears.
It would certainly be true that the Multia mwm had no console window.

| Right - .5 discusses the mwm.exe from the multia kit, and I was just
asking where I could find it if I don't have a multia. I prefer a
mwm.exe that doesn't tie up a console window.

| I doubt it ties up a console window. Perhaps a console window
subliminally appears and then goes away.

3132.12 | Console window stays | YAKKA::KINGSMILL | Geoff Kingsmill, Australia | Wed Apr 09 1997 20:32 | 10 |
| Eric,
The console window comes up and stays. The best you can do is the minimize
the DOS window automatically by starting MWM using the command
"START MWM /minimized D:\win32app\xcursion\xapps\mwm.exe" - this works with
WindowsNT). You actually end up with two entries in the task bar - The DOS
Command Window and an Untitled X Window. Is there a reason why the multia
version of MWM (which does not start a DOS window) cannot be included in the
eXcursion kit?
Geoff..

| Right. Any app built with the eXcursion SDK as a "console" application
will pop a console window when it starts, and it will stay up to
provide a place for stdout messages to go.

If one version of mwm leaves a dos window around and another doesn't, I would
think we could provide the one that doesn't.
It's partly a matter of our list-of-things-to-do. I suggest you put in a
qar on it.
