I would like to change my Decterm window to 80 columns, but the
problem I have is that the set-up screens are bigger than that
on my laptop and the OK/cancel buttons are hidden from view [not
to mention the range of my mouse] off of the bottom of the screen.
How do I shrink the set-up windows so I can get to the choices?
Thanks for any info.

| There really isn't much you can do. If the notebook will do 800x600
resolution, you can *usually* get DECterms to fit right. On a 640x480
system there just aren't too many options. Try using the DECterm
Window Options menu to select "Condensed Font (132 columns)." It's ugly
but it may allow things to fit better.
Failing that, you can try using an X resource to put scrollbars on some
windows that don't fit.
Put:
*DXmfitToScreenPolicy : AS_NEEDED
in DECW$XDEFAULTS.DAT. (Create one in sys$login if you don't already
have one.) Not all applications honor this resource but some of the
Out-of-the-Box DECwindows things do, so give it a shot.

I can select all the changes I want in the windows, but I can't
get to the bottom to OK the changes. 8^)
But I will try adding that line to the .DAT file ... as soon as
I find/create a .DAT file to put it in. 8^)

Just hit return, that should do it.
