1023.0. "DSNlogin does not work, DSNlink seems to work !?!?" by BACHUS::PIRLET () Tue Mar 11 1997 17:36
hello
We are installing the very first DSNlink under DIGITAL unix and X25.
Installation was ok and we could use dxdsn to create, augment and
review a call. We could use ITS....
Last test to do was to DSNlogin from Digital to the customer machine.
It seems to fail in DSNlink application.
Could somebody help me with the following.
I have done (see appendix)
1 connect to customer machine using dsn host command.
as you can see, it does not work..
2 connect to customer machine using x25 connection
it does work like a charm
3 examine contents of customer log via X25 connection.
DSNlink on customer machine is activated but then
cannot find host name 2810042540 (this is X25 address!)
What does it mean?
Thanks in advance
Louis Richard

1023.1 | Maybe remote authorization ? | AZUR::DESOZA | Jean-Pierre, DTN 828-5559 | Mon Mar 17 1997 12:43 | 3 |
| Although the error messages does not suggest this (would be REJECT, not NOPATH
error), did you check if the customer's /usr/lib/dsn/dsn_remote_auth.dat allows
dsn_login?

| Hello Jean Pierre

| I have this funny feeling that the . in X/SCP.281004254/dsn_nsd
is interpeted as a separator rather than as part of the address,
so it looks like DSNlink is looking for node 281004254 in domain SCP.
