3655.1 | You should be able to run your old W618 at 8x128K | MARVIN::SZMIDT | Chris Szmidt, DEC Park II, Reading | Thu May 29 1997 07:52 | 19 |
Paolo, You should be able to run your old W618 at 8x128K We didn't make any hardware changes to the W618 to make it go faster - it is actually physically capable of slightly faster speeds than 8x128K What we did do was attempt to make the software that runs on it go faster (which may have been around the V2.2/V2.3 days). At this time we evaluated the maximum speed for the hardware (somewhere around 192K) and also the maximum reliable speed for the Line Card Software (8x128K). After this study we probably started selling W618s as 8x128K even though they actually hadn't changed Have you tried to run the old card at 8x128K? Chris Szmidt (Line Card Software) | |||||
