3622.0. "Help needed to analyze a NIS dump" by SPICSS::DESIDERI () Wed Apr 30 1997 11:30

	HI,

	Please can somebody help, and find some spare time to give a look
	to a Decnis dump ?

	This is an old version 2.2-4

	What I need to known is basically what is behind the crash,
	the area of the problem.

	There is only a detail, the Nis with all other equipment is
	located in Kenia Malindi far away from Italy.

	Based on the answer, from the dump analisys, than we can say
	to the Customer what to do.

	If you need an official call IPMT to be logged, let me know

	Thanks for your help
/Roberto Desideri (DEC MCS Rome Italy)

3622.2Upgrade to at least V3.1-7MARVIN::HIGGINSONPeter Higginson DTN 830 6293, Reading UKWed Apr 30 1997 14:2020
Roberto,

I had a quick look at the dump but 2.2-4 is so old that the symbols
are not online anymore.

All I can tell is:

Ethernet Address     : 08-00-2B-A5-E3-60
Header bugcheck code : FF000013
Reason for bugcheck : %LES, Access Violation

My best guess is that this is a SOC crash and you should upgrade
to at least V3.1-7 to get a fix to this.

An IPMT will just get you a message to say upgrade to a current
version.

Regards,
Peter
