3616.0. "NISFIX-4-040 problems with x25" by ATZIS2::BERANEK (HANNELORE BERANEK @AUI) Mon Apr 28 1997 12:46
Hello,
Does anybody known wether there is a x25 bug in NISFIX-4-040 ?
I've upgraded to NISFIX-4-040 on a DECNIS600 within easynet, and had
a lot of troubles with x25, the lapb link seems to bee bouncing,
the x25 speed was very slow with a lot of hangs, and also x25 sessions
got disconnected !!!!!
As this is the only austrian x25 gateway I had to downgrade, but if you
want I can provide you with the images and scripts !
!
attatched you will find the details !
loading the old image NISFIX-2-040 ->x25 workes fine !

As I've found in note 3323.1 increasing the acknowledge timer (T1)
would help ! I tried this out, the only affect was that ( found in dtf
traces) now the hold back timer expired, and sessions got disconnected
too !
sorry that I can't provide you with the DFT trace, but during this time
it was only possible to do it online, because ctf and dtf, to a dat file
didn't work ! (connection lost)
here is the configuration of my DECNIS:
DECNIS 600: l601
f621
3x 622
one of the 622 cards is used for x25 !

| V4.0.2 has known problems with X25 Relay; the only intentional change
made to X.25 for V4.0.4 was to fix that one problem. I'm not aware of
any LAPB problems and none were seen in the regression test network, as
far as I know.
Is this NIS connected to a real DATEXP network? Is it possible to get
traces using a WAN analyser?

Hi Antonio,
Sorry, but we don't have a WAN Analyzer, to provide the information you
require.
But the problem seems to appear only when using the profile
DATEXP_A with the profile DATEXP it seems to work !
I've also talked to Vera Kloeper who has the same assumtion !
Vera has checked the 4.0.2 with german datexp, and DATEXP profile which
works !
So my question: what are the differences between DATEXP and DATEXP_A
profile, which can couse this kind of problems ?
thanks again and kind regards
ps: by the way, I'll be on holiday until 12th of may, Martin Fruehwirth
knows the details of the problem and will supply you with further
information if necessary !
