Hi, I am looking for info about potential problem using a Decnis as Level 2 Link State routing protocol and a Cisco that does not run it,it runs routing vector. This two kind of routers must be in same Decnet Area. For my test they are working, but could anyone confirm me that this behaviour should be a stable solution. Thanks in advance for kindly help Daniele Sabbadin MCS Turin

We do not recommend mixing routing algorithms at level 1. It is only supported at L1 when the routing vector routers are part of a VMS phase IV cluster. At the L2 it is possible to split the domain into RV and LS parts by the use of interphase links. So although in your network things appear to work, the setup can lead to unexpected behaviour. |
