Hi,
I've a DECNIS-500 running V3.1-9 and it runs OSPF as routing protocol
on the LAN side while on the X25 I've defined a reachable address on
every VC.
I've alse defined a PROPAGATE DESTINATION FILTER with ANNOUNCE METRIC
set to 0. In this case as stated on section 10.5.3 of the management
manual the DECNIS will use the metric that is set in the Forwarding
database.
Unfortunately the Decnis announces the Ip reachable address with a cost
of 0.
Do I miss something or there is a problem in the Decnis software?
I've included the relevant parts of the NCL file as well as the DTF
OSPF traces.
The problem is on network 10.113.198.0 which is defined via an ip
reachable address with a metric of 14 and is propagatet to OSPF with a
cost of 0!!!

does this mean that there is no way to propagate the metric to OSPF?
I've two DEcnis pointing out to the same IP network and I want to use
only one circuit thus leaving the second one as a backup...

| Just set the ANNOUNCE ROUTE METRIC on the PROPAGATE DESTINATION to the cost
of the route rather than 0 and it will be announced in OSPF at that cost. If
you have more that one IPRA on the DECNIS then create a PROPAGATE DESTINATION
for each of them and you can then announce them at different costs.

thanks for your answer, I'll do as suggested in .3 but the problem is
that I have 14 DECNIS and each of them has 60 IPRAs..
This means that I have to define 840 PROPAGATE DESTINATIONs....
I really hoped that it could be done in one shot as stated in the
manual...

Thats the case if the 60 IPRAs on each DECNIS are imported into OSPF
and are to be announced at a different metric. IPRA's that are to
be annouced at the same metric can be included in the same P.D.
