3527.1 | COUNTER problem in V3.1-8 over CHDLC | MARVIN::RIGBY | No such thing as an alpha beta | Fri Jan 31 1997 06:26 | 16 |
| Unfortunately V3.1-8 broke the COUNTERS for CHDLC - the result is that the CRC
error count cannot be believed. Note that this does NOT break the data transfer,
just the reporting of the counters.
V3.1-9, due soon, will have this fixed.
The traffic may be being interrupted but it IS NOT DUE TO THE COUNTER problem.
If the link is perfectly stable with V3.1-6 and never sees 'interrupt'ed traffic
then there must be some other problem of which we are unaware.
Upgrade to the new DECNIS software when it is available but be warned that that
will only fix the counter issue. If there is some other problem for which DECNIS
is responsible it won't be fixed in V3.1-9.

3527.3 | but what is really the problem> | MARVIN::RIGBY | No such thing as an alpha beta | Tue Feb 04 1997 09:33 | 2 |
| If the customer ignores the counter being effectively a random number exactly
what is the observed problem?
