| Are there any problems or issues with replacing the x25l2_prf and x25l3_prf
files with zero length files? The compiler accepts the files and includes them
in the FLASH image. At this time we have not actually loaded and ran a router
with this configuration. This have been done on both VMS and UNIX.
This would be the preferred method for correcting the size problem we are having
with hub routers. It appears that hub routers (thoes with more than 3 circuits)
are either at maximum or very close to the 4096 limit with the x3.1.9 kit.

3499.9 | NOT SUPPORTED | MARVIN::HIGGINSON | Peter Higginson DTN 830 6293, Reading UK | Fri Jan 24 1997 15:56 | 13 |

Rod,
We have had that suggestion before and it is emphatically "NOT
SUPPORTED". The supported method for now is to delete the files
with mod_flsh - then if they are needed for any reason they will
be fetched from a load host. (ncl commands can be given that
require these files.)
Once the next fix kit is out send me some email and you can help
us test compressed script and profile files.

Peter,
Any estimates on a time frame for the compressed scripts? We will probably
have to look at upgrading the hub routers to MPC-III if the time frame
is very long. Support orginizations are not happy about having to run
MOD_FLSH when the combine fails ...
Will the comress be available in the 3.1.9 stream or will we need to move to
4.0 to get this option?
