| On a related issue, some of the routing circuit counters for a PPP Frame Relay
circuit do not increment. Any idea if this will ever be fixed. I will do an
IPMT if it would help.

3409.6 | per-connection counters available in V4.0-5 | MARVIN::RIGBY | No such thing as an alpha beta | Wed May 07 1997 05:19 | 15 |
| This is documented behaviour for DECNIS software versions before V4.0-5. As the
line card did not keep per-connection counters for the frame relay channel the
routing circuit (which is associated with a single connection) counters couldn't
be maintained either.
With the very latest DECNIS V4.0 release which hasn't even been announced yet
there are a lot of Frame Relay enhancements including the maintenance of
per-connection counters, connection rate control, BECN monitoring etc. etc.
I would recommend all users of Frame Relay to use the V4.0-5 version of the
DECNIS software and check out the internal DECNIS web pages including
http://www-engreo.reo.dec.com/cbnbus/html/decnis/framerelay.html

3409.7 | Per PVC Frame Relay Counters as of V4.0-6 | MARVIN::MCCLURE | Tony McClure, DECnis Engineering RE02 FD9 7830-3564 | Wed May 07 1997 05:22 | 17 |
| Hi Mike,
As you mentioned in a previous reply frame relay per PVC counters
don't work. This was a due on a limitation in the linecard software.
As of V4.0-6 (soon to be released to the world) the DECnis frame relay
support has been greatly enhanced. The DECnis now supports frame-relay
rate limiting to a fixed CIR and also dymanic increasing above CIR
when the frame relay network is quiet. Also we have implemented per
PVC counters.
I believe that the documentation if available from DECnis web page.
Cheers Tony.

3409.8 | no it really is V4.0-5 | MARVIN::RIGBY | No such thing as an alpha beta | Wed May 07 1997 05:25 | 27 |
| Notes collision and Tony quoted the wrong version - we had proposed skipping a
version for this release but we didn't so its called V4.0-5 not V4.0-6.
