It appears that the hub 612TX can be installed on a hub900 switch.  At least 
that's what the documentation I've been reading says.     But it's not
clear to me how I can configure it to talk to any of the backplane lan channels
on the dechub900.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can do that?

	You use the Lan Interconnect screen in MultiChassis Manager. (FKA HubWatch). Two port pulldowns appear, one for Dedicated Ethernet (FKA ThinWire) and one for an ethernet flexchannel. -mike
