4389.0. "Problems running Cvision MCM after Manageworks??" by CSC32::YOUNGWIRTH () Thu May 01 1997 14:40

    
    	If I run Manageworks 2.2 and then try and startup Clearvision MCM
    from the WIN95 START option i get a error:
    
    SWSUM
    Could not load CustCntl.dll please exit this program.
    
    The Hub front screen comes up but if I click on a module I get the
    error that this application has performed an illegal operation and to
    shut it down now. Then the hub goes away.
    
    Any ideas what the problem is??

	Hi, I have the same problem. There are two versions of this .dll, one from MW ( about 22k) and second from new MCM ( about 40k). Unfortunately it is not possible to copy latest one over first one. If you do, then the SNMP poller of MW will not work ... Actually I didn't find solution of that problem. There is a field test version of Server Works 3.0 which works fine in this aspect, but doesn't in others. Hopefully there is a solution, and someone will answer. Otherwise it means that I cannot run MW+MCM+MAM fw 5.0 + VN... have a nice day Jiri, MCS Prague [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

	I'm on customer site this week and next to set up, demo and train staff on hubs, ServerWorks and clearVISN. It seems I'm suffering the same kind of problem "funnies" with the SNMP and Event Logger etc. I loaded up the NT4 system with ManageWorks, ServerWorks and clearVISN and initially things looked ok with no reported problems seen. Howeever, as I begin to explore and set things up all kinds of erratic behaviours have surfaced. Firing up ManageWorks I can generate an IP map and from there launch clearVISN MCM but I'm not able to set up Traps and get the Map to rerflect events in terms of colours etc. Lots of other things which I'm looking into.... Hope someone has some ideas - soon ! Rog
