Can the DECswitch 900EF be dual homed without changing the Default A and B
port DAS configuration? Note 3428.1 seems to indicate that this will work.
At present I have two 900EF and two Concentrators in a dual ring and it
works fine. The two 900EFs each have a connection from the AUI port 7 to
the same Thick Wire Ethernet LAN. What I want to do is connect the
customers IP router to the dual ring, but they will only allow the
concentrators in the ring. So what I thought I would do is connect the A
port of each switch to ports on concentrator A, and connect the B port of
each switch to ports on concentrator B. I could probably eliminate the A
port connections since I have triple redunancy to the Thick wire, by
connecting port B of one switch to a port on Concentrator A.
