4350.0. "MultiSwitch 300 problems." by CGOS01::DMARLOWE (Have you been HUBbed lately?) Mon Apr 14 1997 03:08
Couple of problems with the Multiswitch 300 and wondering if anyone has
come across similar problems.
UTP from switch to 3Com 3C595T4 card. The link will not come up in
100Base. Works OK on 90TS or 612EX (10Mb). Apparently the 300 is
normally configured to send out NWAY's proprietary signalling. This
may be confusing the NIC card. Will try disabling this feature (BUG)
on Tuesday on the customer's site.
Next. Problems with a DE500. Booting NT, the card comes up in 10Base,
and the 300 link LED comes on. As the booting continues, it sounds
like a relay flips on the NIC card and it goes into 100Base mode. At
this point the UTP port on the 300 locks up. It can only be restarted
by pulling the RJ45 out and putting it back in. Any solution?
