Hello, From the clearVisn manuel I have seen that Router Configurator and Router Manager are running as an integrated application. So, can I running flash loader to upgrade firmware without installing Router Configurator(Only install Router manager) ? Besides, can I upgrade the firmware of DECswitch 900EF without using flash loader ? Can I use downline upgrade ? I have tried to use downline upgrade but it seems doesn't work. Any ideas are welcome !! Rgds, Andrew.

Yes, you can upgrade without starting the router software. You need to start a TFTP server application on the system that contains the image of the product to upgrade. Just run the application c:\Clearvis\Comet\bootp.exe which is a bootp/TFTP loader. Now Flashloader should work. If the TFTP server is started you can also use the downline upgrade option using the Setup port on the DEChub900 multiswitch or HubONE. Any other SNMP MIB browser can also be used to load the firmware. DECnduplus is also an option to load the firmware. Success, Lodewijk (MCS Euro GSO engineering) [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] |
