4267.0. "rear AUI port not work in 90T16" by HGOM19::MARKWU () Wed Mar 12 1997 06:56

    Dear colleagues:

    	I meet a strange thing in Multistack 90T-16 with AUI rear cover.
    	Total have 6 90T-16.

    	ALl of them have same part-no. rev.
    	Now there only have one can use AUI backbone! WHY ?
    	I changed rear cover each other, but find the problem belongs to
    	90T-16 itself.

    	The other's can use with thin and RJ-45 very well except AUI.

    	Any hints ? Does it need SNMP to set the AUI port ?

    Thanks
    					Mark.

4267.1sounds like dead hardware, does it pass SelftestsKERNEL::FREKESLike a thief in the nightWed Mar 12 1997 09:449
    > does it need SNMP?

    Probably not, the 90t-16 does not have an intergrated SNMP agent, and
    neither does it run any upgradable firmware. Sounds like a hardware
    issue.

    Use normal channels for hardware replacement.

    is there not maybe a restriction on the number of simultaneous AUI
    port connectsions in a stack ?

4267.3Need more configurationinformationNPSS::WONKKAWed Mar 19 1997 13:0010
Mark,

     Can you give more information about this configuration? Are you connecting
the management cables in multistack? Is the AUI LED on on EACH of the stack
stations? Can you provide a configuration drawing with all the connections and
cables being used?
