4248.0. "command to enable Switch/Lanbridge compatibility" by 21272::THR_CHICO () Tue Mar 04 1997 09:08

    I saw in note 1795 that DECswitch is compatible with LAN-Bridge100/150
    and to enable this feature is neccessary setup LB100 as the protocol
    default for bridging.

    What is the command I can use to enable that ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Francisco

    In MCM, from the switch configuration window, select the "AutoSelect"
    option for LB100 Compatibility.

4248.2Brouter doesn't have this option21272::THR_CHICOWed Mar 05 1997 09:2911

    Sorry, I forgot to mention that our DECswitch is a Brouter ( Bridge and
    Router - DEFBA-DA ) and the switch configuration window doesn't have
    the options that you talk !

    Do you know if there is a console command to provide it ?

    Thanks again,

    The Distributed Routing Software on the DEFBA does not support LB100
    STP.

    From what I have come to understand no, this will not be implemented
    in the future, unless a very very large demonstration of potential
    revenue can be shown.
    Even then, it would be a hard sell based on the limited resources,
    because of other priorities, that would be available to make
    the changes.
