    Hi Steven,

Can the customer only order the rear panel of the 90TS? And what is
    it part number?

Since the customer want to move the 90TS from DEChub 900 to
Standalone, but he still need the AUI port to connect the repeater.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Lawrence
3878.4Let me get back to you on that!KERNEL::FREKESLike a thief in the nightMon Mar 03 1997 06:5324

You might want to look at the following URL.

    http://www.digital.com/.i/info/Customer-Update/950915009.txt.html

I am having a problem interpereting this myself. It appears that the
following are applicable to the 90TS.

    DETMI-MA DECrepeater 90TS Hub Unit
    DETMI-A* DECrepeater 90TS Standalone Unit(4)
    DETMI-S* DECrepeater 90TS Stackable Unit (5)

I think if you ordered one of the above you would get a repeater
module and, if applicable, either the Standalone Unit or
the Stackable Unit. Not sure if you could order this seperately.
IE just the Standalone Unit without the module.

I will try and find out from a colleaugue in the NPBU.

    Stay tuned.

I got the following reply from a colleaugue in Sales. Hope it helps.

    Posted without permission.

Once upon a time, you had two options:
-MA for the module (Module Alone)
-AE for the module + external power brick. (E=> UK variant)

Then the MultiStack stackable hub shelf was developed from the -AE, and
we hada 3rd option -SE (S for stackable, E for UK variant of power)

All repeaters, bridges and DECagent are now available in -MA and -SE
variants only: the -AE "standalone" variants went EOL.

However, the group which look after the other 90 modules (Terminal
Servers, RouteAbout, RoamAbout, PktProbe etc) have stayed with -MA or
-AE ie. you can't buy these modules prepackaged with the MultiStack
shelf in a -SE variant. If you want that, buy a -MA, and an empty
    shelf DETRX-SE.

For your DETMI, you can get the -MA or -SE. The -AE is EOL.

Another gotcha: the DETML Repeater 90T-16 has 2 sets of backplane
circuitry, so can drive both the BNC port and the backplane at the
same time. In the stackable format, the "backplane" circuitry can
be used to drive a MultiStack shelf with a built-in AUI port.
Therefore, the DETML is available in:

    -MA: Module alone
-SE: Module + standard MultiStack shelf no AUI
-UE: Module + MultiStack shelf with AUI.

    For the DETMI,

    Regards
    	Steven
