I have a question about the abbr. "DS900EF" for DECswitch. I did a quick scan of this notesfile and found this is a commonly used abbr. I also found it in the computer-based training on Hubs and Hubwatch. I am concerned because "DS" has always stood for "DECserver" and customers may get confused and think the DS900EF is a new model of DECserver. Of course, they will lose this notion as soon as they read further and see that it is a DECswitch, but I am still concerned about this confusion. Is "DS900EF" an officially sanctioned abbreviation for DECswitch?

No it is not. It's simply a case of people abbreviating things so they don't have to type "DECswitch" everytime they refer to a DECswitch 900EF. Bob |
