I have a question about mapping to 12 DEChub 900 flex channels. Do the "old" repeater modules - PORTswitches 900, DECrepeaters 900, etc. - map to flex channels 6-12 (2-wire)? If yes, are there any restrictions? I would expect only FW upgrade, is this right? Thanks, Tomas

NO support for the additional 6 Ethernets on any of the original DECrepeater or PORTswitch modules. Only the VNswitch and new repeater will provide connection. It requires more hardware NOT JUST a firmware upgrade. | |||||

however, remember now with the new VNswitch 900 modules, you can attach to the thinwire, 6 old flex channels and 5 new flex channels from the new switch. So, this lets you put a second VN900 module in and connect to the last new flex channel for a total of 13 Ethernets (1 thinwire, 6 old flex, 6 new flex). |
