3794.0. "DECswitch 900 Error Code 0203 during upgrade" by ZUR01::ACKERMANN () Mon Aug 19 1996 10:04
DECswitch 900EF Crash Code 0203/200C/2010
Hello all,
I have a big Customer who upgraded several DECSwitch 900EF
from V1.5.2 to V1.6.1
Upgrade done from a NT System/Clearvisn and Flashloader
After the Upgrade he had the following Error Log Entry:
Entry # = 0
Entry Status = 0 [0=valid, 1=write_error, 2=invalid, 3=empty, 4=
crc_error
Entry Id = 10
Firmware Rev = 1.5
Reset Count = 4
Timestamp = 0 0 0
Write Count = 5
FRU Mask = 0
Test ID = DEAD
Error Data = SR=2700 PC=03069360 Error Code=00000203 ProcCsr=4569
Registers = D0=00000064 D1=00000001 D2=00000005 D3=00000800
D4=0007DC9C D5=00068B64 D6=00000000 D7=0000FFFF
A0=00000004 A1=0004F430 A2=00055E1C A3=00000002
A4=030020D8 A5=03020000 A6=0004B88C A7=0004B86C
the Switch is up and running again, but the Customer
wants to know, where there is a serious Problem or not.
Can somebody from Engineering have a look into the Error
Code and give some explanations please?
By the way: He told me also from other error Codes,
like: 200C/2010 but this Entry show Firmware REV V1.4,
so i assume that this entrys are old. In the Time stamp
they show 0 0 0, so i can not identify how old they are.
Do You have a Summary of the most common Error Log
Crash Codes? So we can at least tell the Customer wheter
the Problem is serious or not. That would really help a lot.
I really dont like to open up an IPMT for evry Crash Code
this Customer reports to me!
Thanks,
Daniel MCS Switzerland

| If the time stamp is "0 0 0" then it crashed right after finishing
the diags, inside the init code. The Firmware Rev in your crash log
says v1.5. This crash looks like something that was in the older
V1.5 code. Have you seen a crash with the V1.6 code??

3794.2 | Thanks, but more Help needed.. | ZUR01::ACKERMANN | | Tue Aug 20 1996 12:44 | 15 |

Hello ken,
Thanks for Your fast response. I checked with the Customer,
but he had no newer Entrys after the upgrade to V 1.61.
But again to my other Question: Do You have a summary of
the most common Error Log Crash Codes? It would really
help to decide whether its a HW/SW/Network or Firmware
Problem.
Thanks in Advance for an answer to this,
Daniel MCS SWitzerland

| There is no summary of the error codes. For the most part they
require knowledge of the software making it hard to document
the true meaning of each error code and corresponding PC.
