Ad,
There is a problem in which the autolearning will not learn an
address which it already knows about. If autolearning was enabled
on a port which has one station attached and that station's address
had already been seen by the 900TP prior to enabling autolearning
then I believe that the stations address will not show up. Perhaps
one of the repeater folks could add more detail to this. I believe
that once the address has been seen by the repeater, they no longer
get a necessary interrupt for that address to be learned.
What you could try (maybe) is to enable autolearning on the port in
question and then attach another system to it. Then generate some
traffic from that station and see if the address of the newly
attached station shows up.
Hope this helps,
Bob

| Bop,
testing it before your answer it reacts as you describes. If a station
is already seen it will not be recognised by autolearning. In the port
menu the address is shown but not in the addres learned stations. What
i did is: disconnect station, reset modulle with current settings. This
keeps the old address authorisation, enable learning for all stations
and then connect the stations. I was not able to test your suggestion.
Customers will not like this, it means they almost always have to
physical disconnect the station, enable autolearn, reset the module and
physical connect the station. The only way to do this right is: enable
autolearning on all ports BEFORE CONNECTING any station.
This doesn't fit in the ID of remote networkcontrol. Any ID if this can
be solved and when.
Thank you helping me Ad Brouwers.
