Greetings, I have a customer who upgraded the 900 Portswitch to version 2.1.0 this weekend. The front-panel LED for the backplane flexchannel channel remains on solid which indicates a large amount of traffic on the backplane segment. Looking at the port activity via HUBwatch does not show an extensive amount of traffic. Has this LED behavior changed since the changes to the new version of the firmware? Any and all comments appreciated. Bob Schmalstieg Colorado Springs

3708.1 | Module hardware revs? | CGOS01::DMARLOWE | Have you been HUBbed lately? | Wed Aug 14 1996 20:24 | 17 |
Just back from holidays and thought I'd answer this but in a different way. I have a customer that is using the 900CP. They had hardware rev A0?. The LAN LEDs responded to the actual traffic loads on each of the LANs. Unfortunately the module died and the replacement was rev B04. B04 did not work the same way as rev A. The LEDs came on solid when connected to the backplane. This is a hardware problem due to changing chip manufacturers. I don't think firmware has anything to do with it but I could be wrong. I was told that about half the rev B04 modules work the same way as rev A. The other half just come on solid. Apparently the new rev C modules work properly. I haven't had any experience with the 900TP. Call NPB support in LKG and get them to check in detail. dave |
