3633.0. "DECnis support in clearVISN router manager?" by OSLLAV::BJORN (Bjrn Olav Haugom) Tue Jun 18 1996 19:14

How do I recover from a corrupted router manager database?

How do I clear up routers that has been removed?

I successfully used the router manager to obtain information from one of
our internal DECnis-routers, but as soon as I asked for configuration, from
the "boxmap", I didn't get any response back, nothing happened.

3633.1me too !GIDDAY::MORANWed Jun 19 1996 10:3125
I too have had all sort of problems with router manager and DECNIs's.

I have used multiple DECNIS's from V2.3 up to the latest and greatest
    V3.1.6.

Funny enought I have more problems with V3.1.6 than with V2.3 even
though Clearvisn reamde says minimum version should be V3.1!!!

    problems like:

*%$^*%^&^ Pathtrace stops when it sees a DECNIS.

A DECNIS which is IP routing fine but no IP icon shows up the the
    boxmap.

    like above but for bridging.

performance distribution not graphiing at all on a decnis.

I hope someone from engineering will answer this note with some
meaningfull answers instead of leaving the field guys in the cold.
Even just a problem noted and am working on it would be nice.

Shaun and Bjorn,

I've passed your notes on to the Router Manager powers-that-be.

Problem noted and <someone will be> working on it. ;-)
