3613.1 | Urgent response required please | NETRIX::"[email protected]" | Murray Penno | Sun Jun 16 1996 18:12 | 12 |
| Hi,
I am also having trouble with this one. We have two customers that we need to
get going with PNV and Clearvisn in combination. The Router Mgr SPD says that
PNV is optional software but I am uable to see how they fit together.
Any help appreciated
regards
Murray Penno

3613.2 | Whats going on ??? | NETRIX::"[email protected]" | NS Austria | Fri Jun 21 1996 02:51 | 12 |
| Guys,
I am a little confused about the things going on here. Where are the guys
from the clearVISN team, and why dont we get answers.
We are running in heavy troubles here with our Polycenter Netview NT
customers if those things dont work. So why dont you give us *any* message
or update?
Do the clearVISN guys work together with the Netview guys?
Please provide some information

3613.3 | Documentation | ULYSSE::MORALES | Manuel @VBE DTN 828-5383 | NPBU Europe | Fri Jun 21 1996 06:05 | 8 |

Robert,
I don't have PNV-NT installed, but I just printed the clearVISN configuration
and use manual and there is a paragraph on using clearVISN with NMS (PNV,
Openview etc).
Look at note 3640.1 for a pointer to the documentation on the Web.

3613.4 | a joke ??? | NETRIX::"[email protected]" | NS Austria | Sat Jun 22 1996 15:39 | 20 |
| Thanks Manuel for the pointer(page 4-7 in the Configuration and use manual)
<<Note:
...
<<If you start another application, such as Router Manager or RMON Manager,
<<an error message appears because the trap is already owned. Exit the NMS
<<application to make the port available and then start Router Manager or
<<RMON Manager.
Hey, is this a joke???
This should be an integration, to stop an enterprise Management application
and then start another Management tool. This cant be true.
Do you think our customers will agree with this sort of integration?
Stonybrook (the company who wrote the Routermanager) *did* an integration
into Netview NT, so why dont we?
any comments and hopefully some clarification

3613.5 | Anyone tried ManageWORKS? | SNOFS1::KHOOJEANNIE | Poles are the best post-impressionists | Tue Jul 23 1996 03:01 | 10 |
| Firstly, what is being planned for the integration of Router Manager into
Polycenter???
And secondly, has anyone tried using ManageWORKS/ServerWORKS and Router
Manager together - does it have the same problems, and what level of
integration can you get?
Thanks
Jeannie

| You do not have to shut down the SNMP Server. That release note
didn't get taken out until after the field test.
For the error on the SNMP port do the following:
Create a file named RMSERV.INI in the directory where clearVISN
Router Manager is installed. This is what should be in
RMSERV.INI:
[Ports]
Trap Port = 0
SNMP Port Overide = 1
Add the following section to your WIN.INI file, preferably just
after the [StonyBrook Router Manager] section. Please make sure to type
this section exactly as it appears below:
[RouterManager Server]
DataDirectory=D:\clearVIS\
The DataDirectory should equal the path where clearVISN Router Manager was
installed.
