I wanted to post some feedback from a customer who uses the port config option for his new PORTswitch 900TP. The current popup screen for configuring the device lists 6 groups. At the bottom of the popup, it gives you the ability to assign one of the 6 groups to the thinwire and when you make a change, it starts automatically instead of there being an apply button for it. I did this along with the customer and I tend to agree with him. Why can we have a screen which is similar to what we have except that you add the thinwire to the top which is the default connection and the eliminate the pull-down completely? This would make it consistent, at least in my mind. Can someone explain why it was implemented the way it was?

Putting the Thinwire as a new column would work for the TP & CP, but would not work for the FP, where the Thinwire would have to be a row. We thought the drop-down list solved this problem in the least confusing fashion. As to if the selection made in the drop-down list should only take effect when apply or OK is hit, you may have a point; however, I do not expect this to be changed, as a new tool may replace these views in the future.
