Going to customers, wanted to upgrade Roamabout access point with current SW before going to service customer, tried CLEARvisn, did not find TFTP server. Did activate Router manager but TFTP ICON could not be brought out of menu bar. (double clicking on it did nothing) Tried with older Netrider loader...would not load even tho access point was in BOOTP table of NETrider loader. Noted that FIRMWARE was ointed to CLEARVIS/FIRMWARE, repointed NETrider loader but would not load. Gotta go to appointment...any suggestions as to CLEARVISN load sequence for ROAMABOUT access point? Also, difficult to find ADMIN/ADMIn password for CLEARvisn.....didn't get many clues when brought up application.. REgards,j

John, I didn't try a Roamabout but I just did the MAM and 2 modules without any problem. Activated Router Manager and canceled on username screen. This put TFTP server in the bar and NO you can't do anything with it but it is running. Then activated Flashloader and input IP address and did show. Then you have to put the IP address of the PC in the TFTP server field if this is the first time you have started it. Then pressed load and everything was hunky-dory. Hope this gets you going. 3607.2 | Works with NetRider Loader | SNOFS1::KHOOJEANNIE | Poles are the best post-impressionists | Wed Jun 12 1996 01:09 | 12 |
I haven't tried it with clearVISN, but with the NetRider Loader, what works for me is to put the file (v22.bin or whatever) into the c:\netrider\load directory and in the TFTP Server, have a mapping between the request filename of DEFAULT and the response filename of, for example, v22.bin. As far as I know, the RoamAbout looks for DEFAULT when it is upgraded. There are also a lot of notes on upgrading in the Wireless conference. Jeannie |
