Hi, After one of our customer upgraded the DECswitch 900 EF firmware to V1.5.2 the ifInErrors increases with one every 10 seconds. We have located the source of these errors. It is a Kodax printer that sends out a broadcast every 8 seconds. it is the same type of packet each time. I can't see anything wrong with this packet. Is this a bug?? Below is one of those packets causing these errors. Thank's in advance, Lars-ke Torlind. DLC: ----- DLC Header ----- DLC: DLC: Frame 54 arrived at 13:16:14.6156; frame size is 60 (003c hex) bytes. 3596.3 | Enable the IPX switch in the DECswitch900EF.... | NETCAD::BATTERSBY | Don't use time/words carelessly | Fri Jun 07 1996 13:07 | 8 |
Ok, this frame looks like it's a raw-ipx frame type. The Kodak printer (source address of 00-04-C8-09-04-46) is sending out the raw-ipx advertizing for a file server. The solution is to go into the DECswitch's local console (or using HUBwatch/MCM (Multichassis Manager) whichever you have, and enable the IPX switch. Bob | |||||
