3586.0. "M-port/traffic group and filter MCM V5.0?" by SNOFS1::63496::CHIUANDREW () Mon Jun 03 1996 22:48

    Hi,

It seems to me that ClearVISN - Multichassis Manager V5.0 does not
    support the following features:

    1) Set up M-ports on Gigaswitch
    2) Set up traffic group on Gigaswitch

Will these be implmented in the next release of MCM ?

Secondly, when I tried to add more filters (PID) with always forward
disposition, I can only THREE PID filters with always forward and the
fourth one WAS CHANGED to 'filter' (I am sure I use the same user
matrix, disposition = always forward, after I applied, then MCM returns
    with disposition = 'filter').

What customer want is to allow ONLY IP/DECnet/LAT/MOP to/from 1.1 to
other ports, so we change the system default matrix to from a virtual
LAN on port 1.1 (1:1,2-36:2-36), then create a user matrix named open
where open is (1-36:1-36), then create PID (e.g. 6004) with
disposition=always filter, with matrix=open, but we got the above
result, is it a known problem or what did something wrong.

The first THREE PID filter are working fine, but the fourth PID filter
did not report the right status (it should be always filter, but MCM
    reports it is filter).

    Any idea/comment?
    thanks in advance for help!
Andrew Chiu - Network services Sydney

PS: Gigaswitch is running V3.0, FGL-4 and SCP latest firmware from
    school.

I'll find out obout the traffic group setup later this week, but the
version of MCM that I have does do M port setup, by clicking on the
GIGAswitch FGL module and clicking on the M port Enable box.

What beta version of MCM are you running... I've got 1.0.17

    Andrew,

There was a bug in the GIGAswitch/FDDI Filter View. It has been
fixed and should be available in the next baselevel of MCM.

    Thanks,
    Bob
