3554.0. "MultiChassis Mgr GIGA/Stats display feedback" by SCASS1::DAVIES (Mark, NPB Sales, Dallas,TX) Thu May 23 1996 18:31

MY customer has some feedback/requests for anhancements to the "Stats"
display of a GIGAswitch/FDDI when using the MultiChassis Manager. They
really love the ability to see a bar chart showing realtime usage of
    each GIGAswitch port!

    Now their requests:

    1. When can they display morn than one GIGAswitch Stats window?

They have 5 GIGAswitch/FDDIs (fully loaded) and do not want to have
to use 5 PCs (running WNT) to monitor all five simultaneously.

    2. When will we offer an Aggregate Total thruput counter?

Counting up 34 bars is a real pain.

    3. When will you be able to print this display in color and save it
       to a Postscript file?

Great charts are not very useful in a meeting if they cannot be
seen. It is also very hard to send these displays to other
interested parties within a company if they cannot be printed.

    4. It would be VERY useful to add "guide lines" on the graph so that
it would be easier to figure out hwat the bandwidth for a particular
port is. It would also be nice to be able to "click" on a bar and
       have the bandwidth displayed.

    5. It would be VERY useful to provide the values of the "high-water
marks" in a form wwhich could be exported to EXCEL. Then our
customers could help promote our product internally/externally,
along with the ability to print the display.

    Hope this feedback is useful.

My customer would appreciate some feed back. This customer is a chip
maanufacturing concern down here in Texas.

    Regards,

    Mark
