Hi, A customer asked me for an easy way to detect when an FDDI ring becomes wrapped. As it is, they have to manually check each port on the DAS/DAC units on the ring with HUBwatch to detect a wrap. They just had a double- failure on the ring where the first wrap could have existed for some time before the second one. They use GIGAswitch, DECbridge 600, DECconcentrator 500/900 and DECswitch 900EF, monitored by NETview and HUBwatch/OSF. Are there any CLEARvisn tool that can be used for this, or should he use NETview SnmpCollect maybe? It is not clear to me which MIB value that indicates that an FDDI ring becomes wrapped, anyone that knows? Thank you, Nils.
